What happens when all the reality tv shows will have done everything? There's a show about this and that and the other thing, so no doubt they will soon run out of reality. There's not that much left. People will say, "We ought to have husbanded our reality more cautiously; now what?" And the answer will be: make stuff up.
At first this will seem a bit odd, like proposing that everyone weave his own cloth or something, but eventually some brave pioneer will develop a new thing, a sort of narrative which is not, strictly understood, "real", yet neither is it "lies". Then that will be the best thing.
