I finally decided to get to the bottom of things and write to the editor of a certain "publishing new corporation", to see if they might be interested in my anecdotes, facetiae, satire, etc.

They seemed interested. But that's just the thing, isn't it? A week or so later they got back to me and said, well, essentially, "as for happiness there is no goal in the dream which is not the hope straw raincoat of love and the success which it does not succeed when it is favorite time". So there we are for now.
