I thought it might be an idea to include a picture of an interesting blog I found recently. There are so many! How to choose?

What people could do is, instead of having a boring old blogroll in the left or right column, why not have a table of screen shots of the various websites and weblogs you visit? Each of them linked, of course, to the sites themselves. That way people could click on whatever looked interesting, without having to guess from the title.

What you could then do (as you seem to have some extra time on your hands) is put the links area in a self-adjusting i-frame, so that the pages would just appear in the middle of your page, and the reader could go on looking at that between times.

I don't think all the possibilites have been exhausted yet. But it is clear that doing several things at once in an inert, non-committal way is key.
