About, Etc.

Pierre Drāno

By RUDYARD KIPLING

Editor and chief contributor of Loser's Guide to Life, Pierre Drāno was born in a small village in Manitoba, Canada. The gypsum fields of that province—also known for its bosky woods, ruisselant de gibier—have probably rarely seen a man as dedicated to unclogging drains as this. At a glance I read him, tho' without more than a "how d'ye do" between us; for the scholarly stoop and the visage wearied with long stints at a workbench stained with acids and what-have-you told me more than any number of long and boring pieces in the The Civil and Military Gazette ever could.

Mr Drāno is the discoverer of the cleaning compound named after him.

Will this do? -- R.
