Reasons for this Weblog — II

Lots of people seem to think that those old HTML tags and things like "textarea" are on the way out...

... They actually go so far as to deprecate them, whatever that means. You hear the same namby-pamby drivel about the iniquity of frame pages, which, under the right circumstances, can offer an extra level or two of navigation through disparate pages. However, there is an exciting use for tables as a simple way of assembling and organizing a whole lot of information on the fly, without having to worry about the rest of the page and all its cranky house rules. Some of these old "deprecated" elements of HTML (or HTML!, as I like to call it) are admirably discrete things. And just consider the benefit of being able to squeeze enormous amounts of text into these little pigeon holes! I could go on and on, of course.	For all the reader knows, there might be a whole novel in here, or perhaps some secret dossiers.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  I might even leave some space, like just now, in order to increase the suspense! It's almost unbearable already.
