Silly Notes Found in Books

A few days ago I discovered the following inscribed on the fly-leaf of a book I was thinking of buying:

To Darling Dummy who thank heavens "became more beautiful than revolutionary"
Love + xxx
blb [or something like that, presumably a signature]

I left the book unpurchased.
