At the Movies — II

A man goes to the movies, which he does rarely because few movies are worth seeing. This movie starts out all right: an exciting opening, a promising argument. But midway through our hero feels restless. It's not quite that good. There's more than one entirely predictable scene. Even the dialogue takes on a second- or third-rate quality, so that it's almost possible to guess what each actor will say, even as he opens his mouth. And worst of all, the plot begins to make no sense. "I don't know why I'm sitting here", our hero says, "I think I'd better leave." But he finds that his feet are firmly glued to the floor by sticky pop spillage.

I think this fairly illustrates the position of the modern audience.

Watching TV is a good way to tear yourself away from the computer.
