Loser's Guide to Life
A man was demonstrating some theoretical thing about physics and space travel : he had a long strip of paper with two distant points marked on it. Then he folded the paper to show how the two points were right next to each other. Contiguous, even. Therefore you could somehow do the same thing in real life. Then Stephen Hawking said something.
At first I thought that if you solved a kid's puzzle like that it would be "cheating". But then it could mean that in the future people will depart London at 0800, for example, stop off at some planet in Alpha Centauri, do some sightseeing, and then land in New York in time for a late supper. That would be good. But it's always going to take me 20 minutes to get to work, and I'm always going to be late.
