Loser's Guide to Life
If you like movies about people arguing to the death over bungalows, then this might be the movie for you. There are a few caveats, however, and we recommend that you first check out other disputed-bungalow movies before proceeding. In this one, a former Iranian colonel, played by Ben Kingsley, works at two jobs in order to buy a bungalow which has been wrongly sold for taxes. The original owner was too lazy to do anything about it, even though she did not, in fact, owe any taxes. She gets her crooked policeman boyfriend to help her make the Iranian give the house back. At this point you have to watch very carefully, because in a trice everyone is dead. Could it be a bizarre take on the Arab-Israel conflict? Probably not. Something about life or something, getting a life as metaphor, something like that? Oh yes, the woman is meant to be a recovering alcoholic. In any case, it's hard to understand this woman, because halfway through it develops that her policeman boyfriend has a lovely cabin in the woods.
More importantly, I noticed the other day that pigeons drink water without tilting their heads up as most birds do. I use Google a lot, but I can't quite figure out the best way to search for some explanation of that. I tried "pigeons+drink+heads". The first thousand or so sites just say "most pigeons and doves drink by", etc., as if everybody copied off the kid sitting next to them in a great bacchanalia of plagiarism. My own observation is that pigeons drink a good deal more than other birds, so it might just be practice.
