What Proverb Is That?

Reading the local rag today, I discovered this:

But as the leader of the world's sole superpower with an enormous stake on the scales in Iraq, he [US President Bush] could slip on the proverbial banana peel of a media-driven protest.
Murray Fartblast

Then there's some drivel about people protesting against the war in Iraq and how they are manipulating the media for their own ends. An example of this might be publicizing their "opinions" or some foul thing like that. In general, Mr Kipling argues, people ought to be quiet unless they're acting responsibly.

But that's normal. The curious thing is this proverb about the banana peel and the media which I don't seem to have heard. Could it be Ashanti? Or maybe from somewhere in the Caribbean? Some place where bananas are indigenous no doubt.

I tried google and all I got was this stupid picture.
