Loser's Guide to Life
According to the BBC, as pointed out by Mr HA HA HA, some Zombie worms have been found off Sweden:
Such "zombie worms", as they are often called, are known from the deep waters of the Pacific but their presence in the North Sea is a major surprise.I can't say I was terribly surprised about this. Zombie worms? Sure. Just try dredging the bottom of the harbour sometime and see what you'll find. Probably normal zombies as well.
There was a strange story a few weeks ago about tropical fish being found in the North Atlantic. That's a bit disturbing.

No doubt worms are important. As creatures, though, they convey the impression that Nature just wasn't trying there. Worms are the sort of thing you'd invent if you were plumb out of ideas and tired of the whole project. Anything that has no legs and is not a snake is dull.
On the other hand, it's probably a good thing that they're not viscious and militant. Being soft and covered with mucus they would be able to get in everywhere if they had a mind to attack. There would be no defence against them. So I guess we ought to be grateful once again.
