A new thing to do with Google, according to Zdnet.fr (via Brain Not Found): use it to bolster some political position. A while ago in France internet users found that by typing "burning cars", "riots" and so on into Google, they would get a Google ad directing them to a petition in support of French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy's "politique de fermeté". It's a bit like a Google bomb, except it's done by engaging Google's Adwords:
