On April 20th, 2006, the Library of Congress announced to the library community, via a member-only listserv for the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC), that on May 1st, 2006, it would cease creating series authority records as part of the Library of Congress (LC) cataloging.
... The more signatures, petitions, and protests that are received, the more we are united and stand a good chance of being heard and halting this terrible decision by the Director for Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access of the Library of Congress.
