A few nights ago I dreamt I had three wives. There was a sort of dormitory where we seemed to be living, and I had these three wives to contend with. One appeared to have some seniority, while the other two were newbies, as far as I could tell. I was bemused by the arrangement, and really had no idea what I was going to do about it, or whether anything ought to be done about it.

The three of them seemed to get along all right. And why not? There was no reason for them not to get along. It wasn't hard to predict, however, that each might separately come to me and complain about the other two, and I would have to spend all my time in unacknowledged negotiation and excuse-mongering.

"Well, her demands aren't that unreasonable. After all—"

Yes, that would be fun.
