A Public Service 

Sometimes these silly weblogs—little more than massed daily obiter dicta—really do produce essays as good as anything you'll find in The Penguin Book of Whatsname. These pages by Retardo Montalban at Sadly, No! are a model of timely and purposeful polemic: Wingnut All-Star: Jeff Goldstein.

It's not just some mindless flyting but a well-structured examination of bizarre, repulsive web-behaviour. Mr Montalban's piece should reassure people who might feel that there is far too much nastiness on weblogs for weblogs ever to be taken seriously.
