I saw Satin Rouge, an interesting movie by a Tunisian director, and quickly found the most boring review in Salon, which dutifully belabours the fact that many Tunisians are Muslim. And even though this movie is about friendhsip, middle age and loneliness, let's get some righteous parentheses in there!:

I don't know. What do you call a religion that demands the death penalty thusly (Deuteronomy 22:20-21):

But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:

Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die.

Jesus may have objected, but who listens? And there's a lot more where that came from.

The Salon piece was really a review of what was going on inside the reviewer's head. The contents of the reviewer's head were tiresome and derivative. Not recommended.
