I guess not, as Codename V shows. One of their ideas was to include “a tribe of angry feminist beekepers” which I initially read as “bookkeepers”, probably a much better idea. If you must remake a movie, it's best to remake something that was already something before the first movie was made. Then you're simply “making another one”. This is an interesting question because many of the Greek plays were remakes. I think the promotional package for Prometheus said “Now With a Second Actor”. Showbiz, it's all gimmicks.
