Loser's Guide to Life
HarperCollins has fired Judith Regan over her plan to publish a book about O.J. Simpson's alternate plan for a double homicide (at Myway, via “Pigboy” in comments at Eschaton):
Friedman offered no reason for the announcement, but it comes less than a month after Murdoch's cancellation of Simpson's hypothetical murder confession, "If I Did It," a planned book and Fox television interview that was greeted with instant and near-universal disgust when announced.
“... when announced”, .i.e., when normal people heard about it.
So, in other words, when Regan proposed this book to her boss, he didn't immediately turn around and say “Jesus, that's a horrible idea for a book, what's the matter with you?” He must have said, “Excellent idea! You obviously know your way around this business and that's why we hired you.”
