Letter to the Editor 

There was an incident in Halifax recently involving teens and police, nothing major, but comments on the story at the local news website were instructive:

.....these kids need to be woken the frig up I beleive that it all comes back to the issue of disipline SMACK YOUR KIDS ARSE and teach them respect for authority thats why they have no respect for the cops its not the cops problem that our kids dont respect them its our.......
I think the issue of grammar and spelling also needs to be addressed. After all, how are our children going to learn anything from us if we just write like Neanderthals with ADD? Would you listen to somebody who cares nothing for apostrophes? I wouldn't. I fear such men.
