Loser's Guide to Life
In the Independent (Ireland) today under tunnels:
An Irishman who dug a labyrinth of tunnels under his London home is in a financial hole after being ordered to pay around £300,000 (€373,000) to stop it collapsing.
(I do wish journalists would resist this temptation to but oh well.)
A retired engineer in Hackney built all sorts of secret caves and what under his house, compromising the foundation of the building and possibly adjoining pavement. However, the story doesn't say very much about what kind of man he is, and, uh, what sort of account he gives of himself and how he explains these excavations. Which is what I want to know.
