Having browbeaten this javascript into producing clickable links, I set about causing it to allow links in a hidden div (or tab-type menu div) to remain visible, even after people click the link and go to another page and come back. That might be useful if you had lots of links and wanted them in various categories on the one page, but in different divs that you can open and close.
You can test the example here.
It may sputter when you return, but I think I can fix that. It does work and doesn't cause any errors.
